Mustard seeds are the small round seeds extracted from various mustard plants like black mustard (Brassica nigra), brown Indian mustard (B. juncea), or white/yellow mustard (B. hirta/Sinapis alba). They are recognized as an important spice in many regional foods.
Most species of Mustard Seeds are known to be originated in Canada and from Canada, it was exported in America. Apart from that, the origination of mustard seeds is also connected with several historical myths. The existence of some mustard seeds for their medical features is said to be there before the birth of Christ.
Mustard seeds are a rich source of oil and protein. The seed has oil as high as 46-48%, and the whole seed meal has 43.6% protein.
